International Competition Winner

Awarded through international competition, the Chengdu Office Tower Complex pairs three Class A towers with a shared conference pavilion in a scheme where environmental performance and architectural form are inseparable. Responding to Chengdu’s humid climate, a custom double-skin curtain wall harnesses the stack effect — operable louvers draw heat and moisture upward through the cavity, cooling the interior envelope while shaping the building’s expression. Parametric and generative design studies informed the orientation and contour of a sculpted skirt at the base of each tower, calibrated to channel prevailing breezes and anchor the entry sequence below.

Where the skirt lifts, it frames the arrival; where the skin crowns each tower, it opens into a sky garden — a full-atrium experience of planted terraces and interior landscape that returns nature to the workplace. The ground plane echoes the geometry overhead, its two-tone paving carrying the language of the facade outward into pockets of greenery and patterned hardscape.

The result is a complex where climate logic, computational form, and civic landscape converge into a single, legible architectural identity for Chengdu’s evolving skyline.
